Following the completion of the mixing, founding member Lol Tolhurst was fired from the band. The band recorded the album at Hookend Recording Studios in Checkendon, Oxfordshire, with co-producer David M. This, coupled with a distaste for the group's newfound popularity, caused Smith to lapse back into the use of hallucinogenic drugs, the effects of which had a strong influence on the production of the album. As he neared the age of 30, vocalist and guitarist Robert Smith had felt an increased pressure to follow up on the band's pop successes with a more enduring work. The record marks a return to the introspective gothic rock style the band had established in the early 1980s. Given the above backdrop, the movement for cessation and Irredentism due to the language rights movements compounded by other political movements that emerged out of the sense of nationhood, religion, and ethnicity are as follows. As a linguistic and political maneuver, the newly emerged countries, e.g., India, Nepal, erstwhile Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, respectively, adopted Hindi, Nepali, Urdu, and Sinhalese as the official languages, which led to many language problems. ![]() The direction of the sense of language rights can be seen as the dynamism yielded from the government policy in undermining a particular speech variety and the recognition of regional speech varieties. The sense of language rights can be characterized by the feeling of a speech community that their speech variety has an equal status with the languages like Hindi, Sinhalese, and Urdu, constitutionally recognized as official languages. The trend of political disintegration manifesting in South Asian countries is a postcolonial phenomenon, which is associated with the Indian independence movement encompassing a wide variety of senses of liberation from language rights to economic emancipation, which has left a sense of language rights among various speech communities leading to many later political upheavals in the SA Countries. This study is to critically analyze the political consequences of the language rights movement in South Asia (SA). ![]()
